Chish’n’Fips Van
A favourite in the village is our Thursday regular fish and chip van. So not a club
or society as such but definitely worth a spotlight!
Who’s Behind the Van?
My name is Steve, and I’ve been proudly running the Chish’n’Fips van for around three years.
What Do You Serve?
We offer a classic fish‑and‑chip menu, along with gluten‑free, vegetarian, and vegan options to make sure there’s something for everyone.
Anything You're Known For?
Our most popular items are our cod and haddock — and of course our famous BIG FOOT 12" sausage, which has become something of a local favourite.
Do You Cater for Dietary Needs?
Absolutely. We cater for all dietary requirements, and everything is cooked in rapeseed oil to keep it as inclusive as possible.
What Are Your Thursday Timings at the Village Hall?
We begin serving at 5pm every Thursday and usually continue until 8pm, although if things are particularly quiet we may close slightly earlier at 7:30pm.
Where Exactly Do You Park?
You’ll find us parked in the village hall car park.
How Do People Order?
Customers are welcome to walk up and order directly, or place their orders by phone or message if they prefer.
How Do People Pay?
We accept both card and cash to keep things convenient.
Do You Take Large Orders?
Yes, we’re happy to cater for orders of any size. If you call ahead with your order and the time you’d like to collect, we’ll make sure everything is ready for you.
Any Special Deals or Rotating Specials?
We offer kids’ meals, and we almost always have a little something for your four‑legged friends — usually sausages that dogs love.

We’re proud to have been the very first takeaway van to serve the village. We always make sure to park in a way that avoids blocking the road or causing disruption, and we’d be grateful for your continued support so we can keep serving this lovely community.
